Afternoon Goners!
I have for sale today what many believe to be a "top five " contender for best vintage fm tuner in the world! It was not enough just to lubricate,dust off and change some diodes as so many do claiming "totally restored" but this one actually is...And then some! Starting with a full cleaning of the boards themselves as well as properly lubricating ALL areas, both inside and out! Metal was then cleaned with a mild metal cleaner and screws and feet were checked to be properly set. It's re-aligning to specs brought about incredible selectivity and sensitivity with a quality of sound far beyond the original!
This was accomplished by doing things correctly; ALL THINGS!All new electrolytic capacitors,(Elna Silmic2, Tonerex, PanasonicFC,  Nichicon Muse, adds up to near 100 units changed! All small value electrolytic "caps" were replaced with Polypropelene and Polyester film caps...All Diodes were replaced with "mill spec" Zeners... Old dual diodes were replaced with Matched set rectifiers, Resistors fromDale,Tantalum, Pre and Kiwame Precision Vishay Foil .01%  and Spaced around the unit in sensitive areas for maximum quietness! Higher capacity and higher voltage power supply caps having ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers... Opamp reloaded and ALL switches cleaned and lubed as mentioned earlier... Finally a second final "cleaning" and 48 hrs. testing on the bench to ensure proper am and fm alignment.
