I have a silver Cambridge Audio 851N up for sale. It was bought new from an authorized dealer in July 2016. The 851N is the same DAC as the 851D, which held a Stereophile class “A” rating until recently being discontinued. The 851N can be used as a digital preamp and is crystal clear when doing so.
Its features include 24-bit/384kHz upsampling from all sources, native 24-bit/192kHz playback, USB, digital audio inputs and streaming over wi-fi including UPnP and NAS drives, Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay, and DSD.
Comes with all the original accessories, including remote control, wi-fi dongle, power cable, user manual and remote cable. Packaged with original boxes and double boxed. Also included is the BT100 blue tooth adapter, a $100 add-on.
No scratches, in perfect working condition, and from a smoke-free home. I’m rating an 8 only due to age. This is a current model in the Cambridge lineup.
I am selling because I have upgraded to a PS Audio DSD Jr. The DSD Jr. costs three times that of the 851N, but it wasn’t until recent system upgrades that I was able to hear much of a difference.
