Aurender N-100H New-In-Box. I have two Aurender players, but this second unit was never used except to power up and test. During power-up, the Conductor app was updated. Cosmetically and functionally, the unit is in new condition.
The N100H contains a 2 TB hard drive where music files are stored. Music selected on a play list is automatically transferred to a second, 120 GB solid state drive for playback while the 2 TB drive sleeps. This arrangement improves listening quality considerably, and also prolongs the life of the 2 TB drive.
A dedicated, Class 2 USB output port is shielded from electrical and radio interference and can be connected to any DAC with a USB input. Two additional USB ports provide connection to other USB storage devices, and a Gigabit Ethernet port provides connection to a network and the Internet.
The N100H is controlled by the Aurender Conductor app which can be operated from an Apple tablet, iPhone, or Android device. The app has undergone continuous refinement and is very reliable and easy-to-use once its capabilities and functions are understood. Conductor is also embedded with provisions for Qobuz and Tidal lossless streaming services, and is managed the same way as internally stored music, allowing streaming content to be integrated with internally stored music. A Qobuz or Tidal subscription is required.
MQA content can also be decoded with an optional MQA Core Decoder upgrade, but the upgrade is not included.
Finally, Aurender provides timely online technical support that exceeds any online consumer support I have ever experienced.
One of the realities about any audio system is that source is most important, whether analogue or digital. I used to think that with digital sources, the DAC was more important, but the player that feeds the DAC matters more. If you have been using a non-audio, IT based source for serious listening, you are in for a treat with the N100H. The musical improvement is not subtle.
This unit is configured to operate on 120 volt / 60 HZ power.
