ST70

For your consideration in this listing is a VTA ST70 power amplifier kit that i purchased from Bob Latino in the middle of 2018. It has many upgrades over the very popular original design. I soldered this together exactly as per instruction and had it powered up and adjusted by a tube amp expert in Wilsonville, Oregon. (Pat Hickman, he builds 25K  dollar amps he himself designed).This amp has upgraded tubes (see pics). It also has a stepped attenuator so you can control the volume without a preamp. I made the walnut base as a fun steampunk idea with miscellaneous dials, switches and knobs from vintage electronics. The one in the center top row controls the volume and is connected to the attenuator with a small universal joint.  The VU type meters work and bounce with the music changes. The kit was a little over a thousand dollars. I sold some Mcintosh stuff before buying this as i was missing that rich tube sound. This amplifier was an excellent alternative to the 3k-5k amps out there. The amp weighs about 35lbs and with packing will top 50lbs and be in a 20"x20"x12" box if you want to estimate shipping to your area. I have shipped heavier amps with no issues and can assure you this will be well packed. No other charges will be made.
