Perfect working condition. I rated it "7" just because of age.
I bought this from a friend of Gary Dodd, a legendary maker of boutique stereo gear. He had it modified so as to use an external battery (pictured) rather than go through the hassle of replacing the original configuration of many batteries (shown in 6 Moons review: http://6moons.com/audioreviews/dodd/dodd.html). This preamp is sweet and precise; the review really does a great job of communicating its strengths. I can forward a letter from him explaining why he had Gary Dodd modify it to anybody interested.
I have used this with a PS Audio BHK amp as well as with a Sanders pushing my Martin Logan Summit X electrostatics. I fed a CEC CD player, a Simaudio DAC, and a Graham Slee phono section through it with sublime results. Do check the 6moons review listed above!
All the wood is in great condition, the stainless steel top has some flaws, but my camera wasn't quite able to capture them.
I will include the battery, but that would require an additional shipping charge; you might be better off ordering one from Amazon, where I got mine. I will also include any tubes I might have that would work with this unit (I know I have one, may have two).
Buyer pays actual shipping charge and 3% for paypal. I will gladly accept checks or money orders and ship as soon as they clear.
I am selling ONLY because I recently acquired a Simaudio 700i integrated.
Feel free to ask questions or make offers. Underwood HiFi used to sell Gary's products, Walter might be willing to sing its praises if you call him. When I asked him how much would I have to spend to equal it today, he said "many times its original price." That says a lot.
