The Avaza possesses a clarity, and musicality that once heard, is not easily forgotten. These speakers are exceptionally well balanced from top to bottom. They have a shocking bottom end, which lays the foundation for huge presentation. There is realistic weight and body to the music. The midrange is second to non. It has a clarity and depth that allows the listener to see into the music in a way that is truly unique and a hallmark of the speaker. High frequency extension is excellent and open. All of the qualities combined with the imaging and presentation that only a true point source can provide translate into a very special speaker that plays well beyond its price point. Specifications: Speakers are large, and weigh approx. 130lbs each. 94db efficiency, and a frequency response of 30hz-30khz.
The Avaza R is an upgraded version of the Avaza and utilizes a Seas full range driver in tandem with a ribbon tweeter. The tweeter comes in very high and aides in dispersion.
The speakers are 94dB sensitivity 2.83V/1 meter +- 2dB 50 to 30khz.
They are tuned to 30 Hz, with a massive non restrictive port ,the bass alignment is the equivalent
of a “SBB4” the F3 is around 39 Hz which means in a normal situation expect mid to low 30Hz bass response.
The transient response is superb.
Since the output is 94dB 1 watt /meter ,long term power handling is 40 W IEC 268-5 the speaker should have
An easily achieved output of 110dB in an anechoic chamber( not to suggest playing it at 110 dB for extended periods ,but in a medium sized room the speaker could play comfortably at 85dB with 20 dB peaks.
What a person owning a 10 watt per channel with 3dB headroom would be able to achieve is 107dB peaks per channel’
Where this speaker gets really good is the low distortion magnet circuitry allows extremely low distortion ,factor that with the fact that you have minimum parts (the few parts used are ultra high quality)tilting the spectrum ,you get nothing but your speaker cable between the amp and the raw drivers allowing for optimal cone control from all amplifiers, a really important factor for amps with ultra low negative feedback.
The Avaza gives a wide sweet spot that projects deeply into a room, It capable of excavating all the nuances of equipment played through them.
