Absolare Pure Preamp

Offered here is the original Absolare top of line Pure preamp before current Passion line. It is with single ended triode architecture and in good used cosmetic condition (7/10; one scratch on the left conner of front faceplate) but excellent working condition. NO Remote. It will come with one pair of NOS RCA clear top 12AU7a and one pair of current production JJ ECC82. Original flight case included and will be double boxed. Voltage set at 110V (not sure if it could be converted or not).

I just bought it from the previous owner who got it as a demo unit from the Absolare dealer Laufer Teknik early this year. It sounds brilliant when paired with my pull-push CJ monoblocks with 100k Ohms input impedance. The sound is full and dynamic with great transparency and details, and more lively, engaging and musical than CJ own GAT.

This preamp is special as it was dealer demo unit for various shows, Absolare upgraded/updated it to show their reference sound. Therefore, it has been updated at the factory to specifications that exceed the current "Signature" preamplifier (which currently retails for $36,000). The internal wiring is Echole's Omnia cabling. The Attenuator is the latest 48 step attenuator. The capicitors are updated to the high end of Mundorf capacitors. The only Signature upgrade that this preamplifer does not share with the current model is the Dueland caps that would not fit in this chassis. All Tube, Zero Feedback, Single-Ended Architecture. Palisander wood and aluminum chassis.

Questions:
1. Was the pure preamp also designed in collaboration with Nori Komuro as the passion was?

2. What specific components have been upgraded to “signature” status? Dueland capacitors? Obsession wiring? NOS parts? I have read the break down on your site as well as in reviews, so I am curious what my unit has.

1. We have several designers that we appoint and Nori-san had his contribution to the tube design (especially the PP). We have three more - where two reside in the Netherlands.
The idea is that there is no ‘guru’. But a true team approach to design and parts chosen. The answer to your question in this regard would be a yes.

2. This is a monoblock chassis. (The aluminum is carved into a chassis.) We have truly upgraded the interior of this unit to a state that is actually above the Signature and we use Echole Omnia wiring all the way with Mundorf’s top of the line units. The interior is almost identical except that there are space restrictions and all Pure preamps utilize Mundorf’s reference caps.
