Air Tight ATC-2

Dick Olsher , in an article in Positive-Feedback online, describes the
Air Tight ATC-2 as the ''elite of preamplification'' and indeed it is.
For sale is a mint condition ATC-2 line stage (No Phono!) with the
upgraded and highly desirable 'Dark' faceplate. This is a true,
no-hold-barred, reference line stage. It is a Miura-san's classis tube
lien stage. The many excellent reviews have all mentioned the superb
transparency, amazing resolution of detail, beautiful craftsmanship, and
ease of use. The ATC-2 is designed without printed circuit boards
(except for a few parts) and is hand wired, point to-point.

In addition to the faceplate upgrade, this unit comes with the optional
premier ALPS HQPRO volume control (1000$ upgrade at the time). The
preamp has several additional important upgrades, done by Roger Sheker
of Audience in California. The one 12AX7 tube is replaced by a third 12
AU7 tube, in order to make the output impedance more manageable, and the
6X4 rectifier tube replaced by a 6CA4, for reliability and uniformity.
Also, the original hardwired power cord has been replaced by an IEC
socket so that any power cord can be used. The 5 inputs and two output
jacks were replaced with Cardas jacks and the interior wiring with
Audience wire. All power supply caps were replaced with new high quality
caps (Vishay, Rubycon, etc...) All of this brings the ATC-2 to a new
level of performance.

It is in excellent cosmetic condition, no scratches or dings, front is mint. I have listed it as a 8/10 to be conservative.

The
preamp has five line inputs, a tape loop, and two speaker outputs (NO
PHONO). The build quality is amazing – it is built like a tank, the
volume control is silky smooth – and the faceplate and body are
absolutely gorgeous (pictures do not do justice). If you don’t need a
built in phono stage, this is about as good as preamps get.
Air
Tight stops making great tube preamp some years back, the ATC-2 was one
of their best. If you had been looking for a long time to get an Air
Tight preamp to goes with your Air Tight amp, that's your chance...
 It can work only on 100V (Japan) or 117V (North America), no 220V option...

Open to fair offer. I would consider a trade for a Aqua Acoustic La Scala DAC, Denafrips Terminator Plus DAC or Cocktail Audio X50(D) Streamer. Low ballers will be ignored. I
don’t have the original box, but a custom made double box for safe
shipping. I have excellent feedbacks. Buyer pays shipping and Paypal
