Ayon Audio Triton

I am selling my Triton III (SN#04316) as I am upgrading to the Epsilon monoblocks. This is a pure class A integrated tube amplifier, and this particular version comes with a tube autobiasing system (which is very convenient when renewing the KT88s, or for their routine recommended rebiasing). The unit is in perfect condition, and has a set of barely used KT88 tubes (from Ayon audio, replaced at end of 2019). It is working just fine. No glitches of any kind whatsoever since I purchased it in late in 2013, and sounds beautiful. The build quality is unparalleled (hey, it’s Ayon, after all!), but you can have a look at all the independent reviews out there. There are several options for the operation: the Triton III can be run on triode mode (60W per channel), or pentode mode (100W per channel), and can be used as an integrated, or in “direct mode” as a power amp. In the nearly 7 years that I have been using it, I have almost exclusively used it in the triode mode, as I found that it provides ample power to drive my NOLA KOs (or for that matter any other speaker that I have periodically tested), without coloration even at higher output levels. Also, even in my sizable listening studio I have never had to push above the – 36 db marking, and that only for some rather extreme pieces of music, like Verdi’s Requiem or Mahler or Shostakovich symphonies. Frankly, this is a fine piece of equipment and the only reason for parting with it is that I do not need more than one tube-based power amplifier. I have the original box, packaging, remote, manual, etc, and will be sent as such. Four brand new Ayon KT88 tubes will be provided as well along with the unit (at no additional cost). The unit been used in one spot since installation and has never been moved since its arrival here and installed in a smoke-free and pet-free listening studio. However, for the purposes of full disclosure, the amp does have a small ding on the left rear transformer, but that has no effect on performance, and it is actually barely visible. Nonetheless, it is for this reason that I have conservatively rated the unit as 8/10, and I have posted the corresponding photographs.
