The Arcam Delta 100 is a stereo cassette deck with Dolby B/C and S noise reduction, it was introduced by Arcam in 1992 with a recommended retail price of USD $1,800 and discontinued a year later.
The main features of the Arcam Delta 100 are: 3 heads and off-tape monitoring, electronic linear tape counter with 4 digits and memory stop, tape type selection with support for normal, chrome and metal tapes, belt driven dual-capstan transport.
Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well.
Level meters used on the Delta 100 are generic digital peak reading meters. Full-logic transport controls used on the Delta 100 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection.
Dolby S-type noise reduction gives cleaner transient response, provides lower noise levels, both at low and high frequencies, and allows higher signal levels to be recorded safely on the Delta 100. Dolby S-type noise reduction provides 24 dB of high frequency noise reduction plus an additional 10 dB of low frequency noise reduction. To further maintain recording accuracy, the Delta 100 incorporates a switchable multiplex filter. When you record FM stereo broadcasts, the MPX filter of the Delta 100 can be swiched on to prevent the standard 19kHz FM pilot signal from interfering with the noise reduction system.
One non-smoking audiophile owner who purchased this product from me in 1992. Arcam discontinued this terrific tape deck which sounded better than the equivalent Nakamichi tape deck in its day because they couldn't afford to produce it at its retail price of $1800.This deck as been lovingly used, is in working condition and in very good cosmetic condition with some skuffing on the top from another piece of equipment that had been stacked on it. Really 8/10. The owner has also included a fresh, new tape for the new owner to play with! Have fun with this!
Thanks for looking and thanks for buying! I appreciate your business! Cindy
