Joseph Audio Pulsar [Expired]

no longer for sale

Stereophile Class A Rated monitors (see, for example, the 2019 Fall list: (https://bit.ly/34SbGw5) in perfect condition. These are the original Pulsars, not the revised JA Pulsar2 Graphene (released this year). I am the first owner. See Stereophile reviews of the original Pulsars here (https://bit.ly/2SLHJIy) and here (https://bit.ly/33QLrqz); Part-Time Audiophile review here (https://bit.ly/2GZETgB); and Absolute Sound review here (https://bit.ly/3jVmHmD). Obviously these are exceptional speakers.

New retail for the Pulsars was $7700; new retail for the replacement Pulsar2 Graphene is $9000. As noted in the Part-Time Audiophile Review (https://bit.ly/3doIYXu), "the new series of Joseph Audio speakers (i.e. Pusar2 Graphene) retain all of the things you love about the sound while adding just a bit more spice in terms of ultimate low-frequency extension and that mesmerizing openness." In other words, for $9,000 you could get "just a bit more spice" with new Pulsar2 Graphenes, or for less than half of that price you can get a pristine set of original Pulsars, which were on Stereophile's Class A list for almost a decade.

These are hard to photograph because of the high gloss finish; in some pictures there are reflections that look like marks. But I assure you the cabinets and drivers are flawless. I have original boxes, manual, etc. The grills are also in perfect condition, and were removed from the original plastic for purposes of pictures only.

As shown in the pictures, I have them mounted on 24" Sound Anchor Stands with Isoaoustics Aperta isolation stands on the top plate. I use the Isoacoustics not only for the additional isolation and vibration damping, but also because they allow me to keep approximately 24" distance from the floor (recommended by JA for best bass response) while also tiling the speakers so that the tweeter dispersion is inline with my ears. I WOULD PREFER NOT TO SHIP THE SOUND ANCHOR STANDS, but if you pay the asking price and can do local pickup I'll include both the Sound Anchors and the Isoacsoutic Apertas in the price.

Note that the rating of 9/10 applies only to the speakers. As noted in the questions below, the stands are not perfect; I don't have original packaging; and I don't have floor spikes for carpet. They are completely functional but there are some marks in the paint, say 6/10 or 7/10.
