Selling my Audio Research Ref 150 SE at a bargain price. I bought it used from a dealer two years ago, and didn't get any previous owner history from them. I called ARC and they told me they built it as an original SE in April 2016. Hour counter currently shows only 798 hours of use. That's only about 25% of the expected tube life of 3000 hours. The outer box looks well-traveled, but the inner boxes are perfect. The unit itself is very clean cosmetically and it sounds fabulous.
Selling because I'm getting rid of all my tube gear. Solid state is good enough for me now in my old age, since I can't hear and I can't lift too well, either.
My photos don't do it justice, but the unit is in perfect working condition, and cosmetically nearly perfect, with two small exceptions: one photo shows a very small nick on the front faceplate (under my finger) and one photo shows a screw head missing from the top cover (to the left of the SE badge). Unfortunately, the screw head is missing because it snapped off, leaving the thread in place. Of course it doesn't affect performance, but the embedded screw thread would have to be drilled out if an owner wanted to replace the screw. I rated the unit as a 7/10 because of this; otherwise it's a normal 8/10. No original manual, but I downloaded and and printed from the ARC website.
I'll pick up Paypal, shipping to CONUS only for a flat rate of $200 Fedex. I welcome pickup, or I'm willing to drive up to 400 miles (that's to Chicago from Minneapolis).
Thanks for looking, Dan
