I bought this brand new less than 5 weeks ago to audition it with several other HiFi speakers. Thus, the condition is a perfect 10/10 with the original box, cables, remote, accessory box, and manuals included. This unit has been used less than 2 weeks for comparing them with several other speakers. I decided to stay with the larger Quad Z-2s for my room. My impressions: this multiple award-winning KEF LS50 Wireless speakers are really detailed, impactful, complexly layered, musical, and powerful in up to mid-sized room. The highs contain so much detail and sparkles without being harsh to my ears. The bass can be felt by your chest, and they sound lean and tight with definition without sounding bloated. Also, they're very excellent in reproducing human voices. In addition to their performance, these speakers are so so beautifully built and the cabinets are VERY solid and reassuringly heavy, almost like knocking on marbles.
I was on the edge of almost keeping them, but at the end of the day, I decided to choose passive speakers instead because I wanted the flexibility and adventure in changing amps and DACs. However, if you just want a set of speakers that will wow yourself and friends without the headache of equipment matching and thousands of dollars trying to get this level of performance, then this all-in-one solution is perfect for you.
Below are technical features I find most compelling about these speakers (but if you're here you likely already know it, but in case!):
- There are 4 DACs (2 in each) of these award-winning speakers, capable of up to 24bit/192kHz resolution processing over USB connection, that is over FOUR TIMES higher that the resolution and information of music CDs.
- Audiophile-class true bi-amping in each speaker through 1 class AB amp (30 watts) for the tweeter & 1 class D amp (200 watts) for the woofer, totaling in 4 amps and 460 watts RMS from the pair!
Whether you are new or a regular to the audiophile experience, this unit will definitely keep you happy for many years!
