The Reflector is a fairly large monitor speaker. Measuring 11" wide, 16.5" tall and 17.5" deep and weighing a hefty 75 lbs each, it kind of reminder us of Acoustic Energy's AE2 speakers but on a slightly larger scale. The Reflector is slightly larger, weighs 20 lbs heavier (the Reflector weighs 75 lbs each) and uses their proprietary 8" carbon fiber woofer and a 1" Beryllium dome tweeter. Frequency response is wider where it dips down to 37 Hz and goes all the way up to 40 kHz (versus 65 Hz to 18 kHz on the AE2). The design on the Reflector is to have no crossover on their 8" woofer and only a high pass filter for the tweeter. This allowed the speakers to sound amazingly transparent, fast and detailed. Bass was tight and punchy with the mids clean and nicely sculptured. The highs were excellently projected with a certain level of sharpness that the AE2 could not match. The speakers are also very easy to drive with a sensitivity of 92 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohm. Reference 3A recommends a minimum of 5 watt is more than sufficient with 5-8 watt SET amps the perfect matchup for them.

Cabinet construction is first rate with a three thick glass panels encasing the two sides and the top of the speakers. Pls go on to their website to read more about their internal bracing and cabinet materials used. Cosmetically, the speakers are a solid 9/10 condition with just minor scuff marks on the bottom plate of the speakers that came about from sitting on stands. These speakers require very sturdy, sand or lead filled stands to anchor them down and allow them to sound their best. See our other listing for a pair of Sound Anchor stands that will hold them up perfectly. The speakers are shipped in two crates so they will be strapped on a pallet if shipping is required. Otherwise, local pickup from our store preferred.
