I'm the second owner of these beautiful Thiels. They originally belonged to a fellow audiophile who used to write for The Absolute Sound. I purchased his entire reference system a few weeks ago. Turns out the 7.2s are a too big and heavy to share floor space with my big Sound Lab electrostats so I've decided to sell them. The speakers are in great shape and sound absolutely amazing. They are nearly 170lbs each and 5.5' tall so local pick-up only. Original price (new) was $14,500.

These 7.2s have the desirable concrete baffle (without any hairline cracks) and not the later mineral resin baffle.  Thiel stopped using concrete because they were hard to ship without cracking.

Cloth grills and spikes included. No crates.
However I have made arrangements with a friend who owns a moving company capable of transporting these speakers (fully insured and wrapped) anywhere in CA for approx $100/hour.

Four-way, floor standing, reflex-loaded loudspeaker.
Drive-units (all anodized aluminum, midrange three-layer sandwich construction):
1" (25mm) dome tweeter - coaxially mounted in
3" (76mm) three-layer diaphragm cone midrange
6.5" (165mm) lower-midrange cone
12" (305mm) cone woofer
All with metal diaphragms and short coil/long gap motor systems
12" (305mm) passive radiator
Cast mineral/polymer composite
Rounded-edge front baffle

The sloping baffle time-aligns the voice coils, and the first-order crossovers give you phase coherence.
The rigid, 1"-thick cabinet, complex & solid inner bracing, 4"-thick solid cement baffle, and custom-built aluminum drivers all reduce energy storage and distortion—as do Thiel's short-coil/long-gap motor assemblies, which ensure that the voice-coil operates entirely within a linear, consistent magnetic field. To realize the CS 7.2 full potential, it is highly recommended to be driven by a superb, very powerful amplifier.

Crossover frequencies: 200Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz.
Crossover slopes: all acoustic first-order.
Bandwidth (-3db) / Frequency range: 23Hz-20kHz.
Amplitude / Frequency response: 25Hz-17kHz, ±1.5dB.
Phase response: ±10 degrees, minimum.
Sensitivity: 86dB @ 2.8 V-1m
Impedance: 4 ohms nominal.
Recommended power rating: 100-500W.

Dimensions: 55" (140cm) H, by 14" (36cm) W, by 19" (48cm) D,
Weight: 168 lbs each.
