Purchased as matched set from Brent Jessee to upgrade my tube preamplifier. Installed them and switched out shortly thereafter for tubes with stronger bass signature. Red bass tube availability has decreased from when I purchased them four years ago. Now sell for ~$200 apiece online.
The 5691 Red Base tube is a premium low noise version of the 6SL7-GT tube.The RCA "Special Red" tubes (5690, 5691, 5692, 5693) and are designed for 10,000 hours of use within their ratings. RCA claimed the 5691 tube could withstand shocks of 100 G's for extended periods of time.
Sorry I do not have testing data on the tubes. If problems just return them with postage paid.
Price is for all three tubes.

How many hours do you put on the tubes?
Regards Thx for your interest. They were used in my restored WE preamp. for ~100-200 hrs, discontinuously. I wanted to break them in before making a final auditory judgement. They are in a system in a second home, so used episodically. Their chronological age is very different than operational age — even in my hands. The RCA is a well built tube variant, but I can hear that the preamp was sounded using all WE tubes. Bill |
