I'm selling my old SFT-1 that has been in my stereo rack for many years. It was given to my by my father who recently passed away. I now have his Gold-Faced version so this one has to go. In order to comply with description guidelines, I listed it as "Good" because of the tiny scratch on the front anodized surface of which there is a very clear picture included. I didn't notice it until I was getting it ready to sell. Everything else about it is 8 to 10. Remote and power cord are included. The power cord is white because it came with the gold faced version, hence I know it's the proper cord for an SFT-1, just a different color.
I'm glad to answer questions about the unit, although I don't know much more than that I used it for 20 years or so and to my knowledge it has not been upgraded. It's worked beautifully into my Assemblage/McIntosh/Van Alstine/Martin Logan system until I took it out of service a few months ago.

I had this model years ago. That was when I had Levinson, Rowland, Brystons to pair it with. Then I got into surround with nice receivers like Integra, Pioneer and Denon. Wish I had some of that old gear now. I have nice surround sound in 3 different rooms but, would love to have this back with a purist analog 2 channel room. Whoever buys this cd player will enjoy great musical euphonic sound. Thanks. It's served me really well. I never went the multi-channel route. I always liked the challenge of making the two speakers, two ears thing work. I'm the same with analog vs. digital. I feel like bad analog is superior to (or at least more pleasant to listen to than) bad digital but at the very high end I prefer digital. But that's just me. My dad was a huge audiophile going back to the very early days of pre-stereo with Dynakit or heath kit amps, and speakers like big 15" Carlson enclosures, etc. Anyway, happy new year! |
Hi,
I like the family story. You have had this transport for many years. It's been a gift from your father. But not sure how his recent passing away correlates to your possession of this great piece.
Nice story anyway. Hmm. He passed away (actually about a year ago) and I got to keep his gold faced model which is never and has some upgrades. Sorry if my line of thinking wasn't fairly evident. Was it inappropriate of me to mention his death? |
