Refurbished JBL LE14H-1 Woofer for L250, 250Ti, 240Ti and Harman Citation 7.4 Subwoofer
For Fosgate Audionics FS400 Subwoofer too!
Original Cone and Dust Cap and Refurbished with Fresh Surround & Non-Rotting Port Screen in the back.
Ready to Go!
Fine craftsmanship is the main priority at Vintage-Stereo-Nut and has been repairing and/or refurbishing JBL transducers successful for more than two decades.
The black Aquaplas cone, 14” long-throw woofer with 5/8" displacement within 10% linearity is used primarily in the L250, 250Ti and 240Ti systems; this listing is a single from a JBL / Harman Kardon Citation THX 7.4 Subwoofer which uses the same driver.
Low Frequency Transducer: Model LE14H-1
Positive-to-red terminal with inward cone motion - otherwise 'negative pressure'
114dB / 300 watts / Nominal Impedance 8 ohm
Felted paper cone laminated with Aquaplas, cast aluminum frame, nominal 14 inch diameter, 4 inch copper voice coil, 19 lbs. magnet
This single woofer has the later heavy-duty professional input terminals with large push-to-open to connect the wires and the spring-loaded mechanisms fits 12 gauge wire, not the early 18 gauge version posts which often fail.
Refurbished by VSN
Removed Rotten Foam: Surround / Internal Disk
Cleaned: Basket & Cone
Inspected: Input Terminals / Spider
Installed: Fresh Foam Surround / Port Mesh Screen
24-Hour Burn-In with 30Hz Signal
Confirmed with Sound: Clear and Smooth
The surround is tested all the way to Xmax with a 30Hz signal to verify the voice coil does not rub. In addition to getting a new foam surround, the internal foam disk used as a screen over the magnet port has been removed and replaced with a non-rotting fine mesh screen on the exterior and under the foilcal. A Note: The original back label was missing; this is a spare in my shop.
Sadly this OEM foam disk ends up rotting away just like the surround does and in the worst case scenario the gooey mess ends up binding the voice coil at the pole piece. This has become a standard replacement on all JBL low transducers I service as a preventive measure after removing too many cones to clean up the voice coil and the gap.
