Marantz 8b

This is an outstanding example of the era-defining Marantz 8B tube
amplifier.  The 8b is one of very few vintage amplifier designs that
have maintained the respect of audiophiles since they were first
introduced and, if you've been interested in high end audio for any
length of time, you've probably heard about them.  The 8b features some
of the finest transformers that have ever been made and each output
transformer is fine-tuned for optimum performance using an extra output
tap and circuitry that is only found in a hand full of extraordinary
amplifiers. The circuits of this amplifier have not been modified, but
the input jacks and all of the key resistors and capacitors have been
lovingly replaced with extremely high quality components. This ensures
that it is as fine an example of the Marantz 8b sound as is possible to
achieve. It is very clean, it has always been well maintained. It works
wonderfully and has extremely low quiescent noise. It comes with "old
stock" Tung-Sol 6BH6, "old stock" RCA 6CG7, and Svetlana EL34 tubes. I
will include a set of NOS driver tubes as part of the sale. I have
opened this "store"on Audiogon so that I can take wire transfers in
addition to PayPal.  Because of this, I only have a few sales so far.
