The original JM Lab Ligne Utopia speakers (1999) in the original crates retailed for $30,000. I bought them from Sound by Singer as used but perfect condition (floor models?). Currently in storage.
Nothing will outperform them these speakers at this price point. I bought them to fill a the front part of an open loft (approx. 2,000 sf) with room filling sound even when set at a low volume. Other speakers were swallowed up by the space but these provided a really gentle wonderful and real sound at low volumes. I can only imagine them in a listening room. Sold that apartment so no longer have room for these. They are in "very good" condition because of something that doesn’t seem to impact performance (the center circle of one woofer was pushed in by little fingers and the other while intact was collapsed a bit and I’ve been told is an easy fix) but they’re otherwise in excellent condition. They have never been repaired and none of the parts have ever been replaced. Any blemishes are barely noticeable. As you can see in the photographs, they are very clean cosmetically and they perform perfectly. The speakers have the front wood covers.

Audiogon’s Blue Book seems to have gotten confused by how Focal named future products and these speakers were listed previously but at some point got overwritten by [headphones]? I’ve requested that they find/restore the old data if possible. You can find these same speakers listed for much more on Ebay fyi if you’re looking for a comparable.
