Bottlehead Kaiju 300B Tube Power Amplifier

I am offering for sale a new Bottlehead Kaiju power amplifier with the DC filament supply upgrade installed. This is an 8 watt per channel tube amplifier using 5670 tubes at the input stage and 300B tubes for the output. Single-ended, parallel feed, directly heated triode design provides fantastic SET performance. Also installed is the optional DC filament supply upgrade for extremely low noise floor, even with high sensitivity speakers. Can be configured for 2, 4, 8, or 16 ohm speakers. The amp is currently configured for 8 ohm speakers.

This amp is very well-built and sounds great. High quality Kester 63/37 rosin core solder was used throughout. The stock kit is built using point-to-point wiring for best performance. High quality ceramic tube sockets. Comes with stock tubes, including Electro-Harmonix 300B tubes. Each channel has its own gain control for fine-tuning the amp.

The alder wood base has been finished with a six-coat hand-rubbed polyurethane finish.  The wooden base comes complete with the Bottlehead badge. The transformer bell has been finished in hammered silver. Also included is a (new) power cord and original build instructions for both the Kaiju and the DC filament upgrade (neither are pictured). Another bonus that I will include is an extra pair of Electro Harmonix 300B tubes. Yet another available option is an upgraded Bottlehead power cable. I can build one for you and include with the Kaiju at my cost ($84.00)

As for my credentials to build tube-based amplifiers, I have degrees (B.S. and M.S.) in electrical engineering and experimental physics and in the early part of my career I spent some years doing mainly electronic work (electronic design, assembly, testing, and software design)  in the research and development department of an instrumentation company in Sweden. I know electronics and can easily tell the difference between a good solder joint and a cold one. I like to build tube amps for fun.
