For sale is Transcendent Audio's Grounded Grid Tube preamplifier, tested but never really used.
Designed by Bruce Rozenblit to complement Transcendent Audio's OTL power amplifiers, this preamplifier uses tube circuitry more commonly found in high speed applications and features wide bandwidth (flat from a few Hz to 300 kHz), low noise and distortion, and incredible headroom - the preamp will output more than 20 volts RMS. Three 12AU7 tubes provide up to 12dB gain. The output impedance is low at 300 ohms, allowing the preamp to drive anything. To simplify pairing with a solid state power amplifiers downstream, the optional muting circuit is also installed.
The preamplifier is a purist or minimalist design. Bruce Rozenblit stripped out all of the features that most people never use. There are no tone or balance controls, tape monitor loops, high and low-cut filters or remote control. The preamplifier is targeted for simple playback from a few sources with the highest quality.
The preamplifier has three pairs of RCA inputs and one RCA output. The power supply is wires for 120V. A U.S. power cord is included.
