These still sound amazing.
Designed by the late Jim Thiel, these were the top model of the Thiel speakers range in the 1995. The CS7 is a front ported, floor-standing loudspeaker offering high performance in a compact, easy to place cabinet. Completely time and phase coherent, the CS7 provides a dimension of clarity and realism that conventional speakers in it's price class cannot achieve, making it ideal for both music and video sound.
Thiel speakers are “Coherent Source” designs with sloping front baffles, which temporally align the individual drive elements. Thiel uses unique dynamic drivers with “underhung” voice coils and metal diaphragms. Thiel drivers are designed and manufactured in the Thiel factory including all the drivers in the CS7.
Thiel speakers deliver flat frequency response within narrow limits. All Thiel speakers are time- and phase-correct with first-order acoustic slope transitions between drive elements. The sloped and contoured front baffles, which mechanically align the individual drive elements
relative to the listener, also mini-mize edge diffraction and baffle reflections. All CS Series models have vented bass loading utilizing either a port or a passive radiator. Jim Thiel chose aluminum alloy for nearly all driver diaphragms. Each Thiel model is uniquely designed to provide the highest definition and the broadest bandwidth possible at its price point. Each step up in price buys an increase in dynamic
range, slightly higher resolution and slightly smoother response.
The woofer is 12" (9.8 radiating area) with aluminum cone, cast frame, 2 1/2" dia. voice coil,10 lb. magnet, 30 lb total magnet structure. Copper pole sleeve, copper magnet ring and made by THIEL.
The Lower Midrange is 6 1/2" (5" radiating area) with aluminum cone, cast frame, 1 1/2" dia. voice coil.
Upper Midrange 4" (3" radiating area) with aluminum cone, cast frame, 1 1/2" diameter voice coil.
Tweeter is 1" aluminum dome with short coil, ferrofluid, neodymium magnet.
The speakers weigh 200 pounds each and are 14"wide, x 19 deep, x 55" high.

I need to know how well they need to be packed.. Also, will the movers/shippers take full responsibility for damage, once they leave the store? |
