I am the original owner and purchased these new from Alan Jones at HiFi Buys in Atlanta (at that time it was known as Audio Alternative). They have been in my living room and have not moved since summer 2012. Our home is smoke and pet free. They are finished in a walnut veneer and are cosmetically perfect. These are the top passive speaker in Vandersteen’s product line and are still in production. The only difference to the current Treo CT model (MSRP $9500) is that these have the original ceramic coated alloy dome tweeter.
I’ve owned Vandersteen 2Cs, 3As & Treos over the last thirty years. These speakers are special and go low. Local pick-up is welcomed and I will deliver if you live within approx. 3 hours of Greenville, SC. Check out my feedback and buy with confidence. If you want Treos here’s a chance to save $6000 compared to the current CT model.

The dimensions and weight of the two boxes are also listed in the ad. I charge the actual cost for shipping. | Thanks for response. I’m speaking of the pink softball sized bundles on floor beside each speaker. Thanks Ah ... those are Himalayan rock salt lamps with 4w bulbs. They give off a nice pink glow for late night listening sessions. 🙂 |
| Please, what are the electric cotton candy looking things outboard of each speaker on the floor? Thanks Vandersteen uses metal spikes on the Treos and I have wood floors. I put quarters into felt pads from Home Depot under the spikes. This protects the wood and allows me to tweak the speaker’s position. |
