This is a wonderful DAC in great shape. It is the current model Bifrost multibit DAC with balanced outputs.
Less than 1 year old and with only one owner. I have the original box and packaging, so the unit will ship in exactly the same packaging that Schiit used to ship it to me. Includes remote and power cord.
I used this DAC as a digital front-end for my Musical Fidelity M3si integrated, which was a fantastic combination. I'm also selling that unit and a MoFi phono stage; if you want a complete affordable system with incredible performance, this would be a great option.
The Bifrost's multibit technology creates an incredibly natural, analog-like presentation free of any digital harshness, but without sacrificing detail. I haven't heard other $700 DACs to compare it to, but reviewers say it can't be beat at this price unless you're looking for the most analytical listening experience possible. I'm moving on from the Bifrost to create room in my system (and in my budget) for a preamplifier with room correction, the Anthem STR Preamp, which has a world-class DAC of its own. In my own A/B testing, the Anthem's DAC sounded a touch more detailed, but the Multibit honestly conveys the emotion and musicality a hair better. The differences were not substantial.
This is the silver colorway, with a USA plug for 115V voltage.
Home Theater Hifi says: "The Schiit Audio Bifrost 2 DAC exceeded expectations I did not know I had. It added details and a sense of realness to music that I did not know my system was capable of reproducing." Check out this Headphonia review for another, similar view.
