Most reading this ad are aware that Ortofon manufactures phono cartridges. What many people are not aware of is that Ortofon has quietly marketed a limited spectrum of extremely well made, technically advanced, and extraordinarily great sounding, high value audio cables for years.

This offering is a customer trade-in for the best sounding cable model that Ortofon ever produced. This one meter (1M) "7NX-AIC-X1 Premium" XLR Interconnect was Ortofon's top-of-the-line interconnect before being discontinued in 2016. We know! We have been a formal dealer for Ortofon cables for 9 years and we continue to use them in several of our demo systems. Their unique performance is outstanding, highlighted by the ability to convey a huge, rich emotional image and broad soundstage. (Note: Additional pairs, including single ended versions are also available.)

We're audio component fanatics and will be the first to say that there is no "best" component (or cable), once a certain price point is realized. .... only different "flavors". We particularly like the flavor of these cables for ease of listening, musicality, and particularly for their ability to make "big sound". While they will excel in most any quality system, we do enjoy using them with tubed gear and/or analog components where a slightly higher capacitance cable can often compliment the magical qualities of typical tubed electronics.

The above not withstanding, we do also often recommend these cables for solid state systems and digital sources that exhibit more strident or unforgiving characteristics. Given the above, some may assume that these cables are "vailed" or that they lack detail, however, this assumption could not be more inaccurate. They are extremely cohesive and transparent, regardless of music genre with all of the detail being there without bringing exaggerated attention to itself.

Ultimately, this cable's build quality as well as design sophistication would cost multiples of the original retail price if still being manufactured. This is why they were discontinued. They are extremely well made with "7N high purity copper conductors and high quality connectors, insulation and assembly parts.

The cables are relatively thick and heavy, while being as flexible as any cable that we have every "played with". They are shielded and also uniquely incorporate an integral internal ground conductor with external spade terminated ground wire. This design, while not having to be connected presents a beneficial for eliminating noise in highly susceptible components and analog sources. Ortofon was addressing signal ground related issues long before the current trend of using expensive independent grounding devices.

As may be deducted from the above, we know cables! Give us a call to discuss your own audio system and our recommendations. We love talking audio!
