Excellent Rotel RC-990BX preamp. This was Rotel's top of the line preamp from the mid 90s and was considered a bit of a bargain by many. It has 6 inputs including a very nice phono stage. as well as 2 preamp outs for running two power amps. The unit can be remote controlled for power, volume and mute. The Rotel has a superb phono section, a 100 ohm low output (high gain) MC, and a standard 47kOhm high output MM section. The sound has been described as clean, transparent, tight with great grip and control. The sound is a good balance between "detailed and analytical" and "warm and lush". It's a no-nonsense, no frills ("on" button and function selector only) preamp with superb sound and good reliability. It's a super-solid piece and is quite heavy. Has worked flawlessly for years. It looks practically new. Buyer pays for the shipping.
