Powerful solid state headphone amplifier, makes every pair of headphones sound great. 6W @ 16ohms is plenty to drive just about any non-electrostat. Has a high/low gain switch for stuff that needs lower power, though I don't think I'd plug IEMs into it.

The sound is extremely neutral, without sounding dead. The best sound stage / imaging I've ever heard. Extremely fast and sharp, and made more so by the addition of the PowerMan external power supply. If you've heard Wilson Audio speakers or Dan D'Agostino amps: it's similar in sound to my ears: neutral while still being alive, and very fast.

The only reason I'm selling this is because of buying a tube amp at 3x the price. I would never part with it otherwise.

As many readers will know, this was originally designed to pair well with the Abyss 1266 Phi TC headphones. Abyss considers this a reference solid state amplifier for their headphones. Having said that, its sound is so uncolored, it really just brings out the best of whatever you are plugging into it, in my opinion.

MSRP is ~$5,900 for the Formula S / PowerMan pair, and never on sale that I've seen. There are plenty of these out in the world I think, but rarely do they come up for sale. This is your chance.

Note: mine are wired for RCA inputs. As Joe, the owner of Abyss, pointed out to me over the phone, there isn't a strong reason to swap this particular amp to XLR inputs, because of its design. However, it can be done for a fee, paid to Abyss.

One minor scratch on the edge of the Powerman, see last pic.

Questions for the seller
Hello, what yours best price and how old yours unit? Thank You
Hey there! The unit is a little under 18 months old. I haven't thought much about best price; I think $4,000 is pretty fair. If it doesn't sell within 2-3 weeks I'll consider that question more :)
you would have better luck selling this if you had it in the correct category which is Headphone / Headphone amp
Ah I didn't see that one on first glance. Thanks for the catch :) Updated.
