BEDINI AVP 2010 PREAMP. DC (battery) powered. Usually the term “Rare” doesn’t really apply but this time it absolutely does. This preamp, per John Bedini is ONE OF A KIND". When I obtained it from the original (deceased) owner through his heir, I thought it sounded different, thin, (as opposed to a Kenwood receiver I had been using) and so I called Bedini. They connected me, to my surprise, to John Bedini himself. He defended it and said “It sounds like a Levinson”. After using for a while I realized he was correct. What was different was the lack of haze, grit, or whatever you may call the sound of the low end receiver. This preamp Sounds awesome. John Bedini told me that only about 20 of these preamps were produced. This one is the only one that has the separate units (preamp, phono stage, power supply). The MSRP from Audio Magazine was $2200 in the late 80’s. The case is 3/16” thick anodized aluminum. I have done a few upgrades to the capacitors and I have added an RF remote volume control. It’s visible in the pics. I thought I would never part with this preamp but I’m moving and downsizing so it's time.
