For your consideration is the legendary Klyne SK-5 preamp from the late 80s. It works perfectly and has been rock solid in my system since new. It has one of the most configurable phono sections ever, with DIP switches for setting gain, resistance, capacitance and HF roll-off. There are also sockets to plug in your own resistors for finer-grained tuning. Its sound is about as neutral as it gets, with none of the foibles typically associated with solid-state electronics. | Hello. In order to set treble and base do you have to add equalizer? (Answer at: [email protected]. thanks EQ creates phase shift which can reduce fidelity, so high-end preamps do not have tone controls. EQ is better accomplished via speaker placement, room treatment, or EQ at the digital source. |
