Krell KPE Reference phono preamplifier with power supply
Very rare Krell KPE Reference phono preamplifier for sale.
The KPE is the preamplifier is one of the most versatile and precise phono stages available.
Rocker switches mounted to the board control gain and cartridge loading. Voltage gain is adjustable in 6dB increments from 58dB to 76dB, and there are eight loading settings: 10, 25, 47, 100, 249, 475, 825, and 1000 ohms. These settings are clearly marked, and the switches can be easily engaged with a thumbnail or screwdriver.
The Reference is more sophisticated and re-designed for different MC types. It has better loading abilities and better gain spread. The original KPE was for both MM and MC types, but less variety on gain and loading.
The power cord and umbilical cords are supplied.
Both units are in perfect operational and cosmetic condition.

I'm the second owner. I purchased it 10 years ago almost new. We test through this peamp cartridges we make. I'm the owner and maker of Aidas phono cartridges. We use this for about 3 months. Maybe 5-6 times. It was unused all this time. Last month I brought it to George Meyer Audio repair and they did throughout testing. It is 100% up to specs now. George Meyer is the premier audio repair shop in California.
