I am the original owner of this vintage direct drive turntable. I purchased it in 1977 and am still using it in my vintage system mounted with a Grace 704 uni-pivot tonearm.
Lots to read on the internet about this classic table. Please refer to VinylEngine for additional information at www.vinylengine.com/library/kenwood/kd-500.shtml.
I believe it was the Absolute Sound's first "state-of-the-art" turntable. Many refer to it as "The Rock" because it was fabricated with a special inert, mineral-like material patented by Kenwood. The table weighs 35 lb. without its cover. It comes with its non-detachable power cord.
It is missing its left-side badge seen in the stock photo. The original dustcover is included and functions normally but has an 8 inch crack in the rear.
I have been buying and selling on Audiogon for 20+ years. See my perfect feedback and buy with confidence!
Thank for looking!
