Component History...

I am the Original Owner of these rarely seen TDL G-20 Transmission Line Speakers...

Purchased New nearly two decades ago they were the Floor Model at a NYC Audio store called J&R Music who are sadly no longer in business...

Cosmetically...

As the photos will show they are in amazing condition. The woofers and tweeters present as new. As well no scratches or dents anywhere...

Rated them 8/10 due to two minor blemishes ,one of the plastic male set-in inserts on one of the grills is missing but does not affect the grill placement when affixed to the speaker.

The other is a very small crinkly area atop one of the corners  of one speaker which was there when I purchased them...

Operationally...

These 6 ohm 90db sensitivityTDL's can be Bi-amplified or Bi-wired giving the discerning audiophile the option to tailor the soundstage of the speaker drivers to your system and room...

The Kevlar Bass driver and Silk soft dome Metal Tweeter were manufactured by Vifa a high end Danish Audio Company...

Transmission Line Design...

The idea of Transmission Line is simple, in a normal speaker you only hear the sound coming out of
the front of the cone . But a cone radiates as much backwards as forwards.
A TL also uses the sound coming out of the back of the cone & filters out all but the lower frequencies and lets it come out in phase at the front of the loudspeaker, so doubling the amount of bass response.

The result is a strong ,very controlled sound with linearity across large dynamic ranges.

Extremely impressive & articulate sound results in the many system combinations,I have had these speakers connected to always a constant in accordance with the room...

Even when pushed to high volumes they maintain a very controlled sound, as well at low volumes they performed equally well...
