Cosmetically all original, no touch-up paint. Previously owner did use the spice block minimally, so there are a few razor scratches from its use. Only other issue to point out is on both sides front deck rail, paint has rubbed off. (During transport where a rough tarp was used to cover the deck in back of covered truck.)
I obtained this unit in 2006. At that time, I had the head block checked and lapped by JRF Magnetics. I used an alignment tape and oscilloscope to align the head block after lapping. I borrowed an original OTARI MTR 10/12 extender board (very hard to find) and calibrated all modules per the service manual. I replaced the pinch roller with an original OTARI replacement. I primarily used the unit for playback of 15ips The Tape Project recordings (all since sold). Due to my global travel obligations until my retirement and subsequent relocation, I would conservatively estimate I have used the unit less then 30 hours since acquisition. I have not done a detailed re-calibration since my initial adjustments. Except to verify functional performance, the unit has not been used in my system since our move 6+ years ago. Time to let it go to someone who can appreciate and use this professional machine (and I can use the room in my much smaller media room setup).
Due to age unit is sold as is, no warranty, other then as per the description provided here.
Local pickup only. If you wish to contract and pay a freight carrier, and have a shipping a crate built, I will work with your provided contacts.
The unit weights approx. 160 lbs. and measures approx. 42” H x 24” W x 22” D.
