Analysis Audio Amphitryon Way better than Magnepan 20.7

I will ship. I estimate freight cost to be close to 3K. Dimensions and estimated weight are for each crate. Each speaker weights 150 lb the crate adds around 80 lb plus the separate crossover. We are looking at a total shipping weight close to 500lb.

Bought brand new end of 2015. They play just fine no issues whatsoever.

I believe this is the only pair they made. Factory upgraded crossover.  Crossover jumpers are MIT Oracle, a 3K upgrade over the way lesser musical stock JPS jumpers. Bi-wire speakers

I had Magnepan for many years. I was happy with the 20.7 but when the Analysis Audio imported sent to my home a pair of Omega to audition, I realized how much I was missing. I ultimately went for their flagship model Amphitryon  which brings the game on an even higher level.  

The soundstage far exceeds the speakers dimension but the 20.7 do the same, however the holographic rendering of the musical event is better because they are capable to produce an even more realistic phantom center channel with a better tridimensional  location of every musician on the sound stage. The voice reproduction is just amazing.
The low end goes quite lower and the whole compartment is more powerful than the 20.7. 
In general the level of refinement, resolution, musicality and everything you can think of as parameter to define the performance of a speaker are on a substantially superior level than the 20.7.

I used the 20.7 and the Amphitryon for years in the same acoustically treated room (the one with the projector screen) and with the same equipment (the DCS Vivaldi stack that I just sold and the BAT gears here listed)  therefore my comparison has a solid ground.

Their construction quality is also miles better.
Not to be forgotten that when the 20.7 were selling for 14K the Amphytrion  were already going for 34K.  Today as per importer info the price of a pair like this has a sticker price of 39K.
Because Magnepan and Analysis Audio  share  fundamental characteristic, when switching from stereo listening to multichannel the Analysis Audio Amphytrion paired with the center channel Magnepan CCR stack will integrate seamlessly. Same with the MMC-1 used as surround.

The speakers conditions are just perfect but one of the crossover boxes arrived already with a couple of scratches. Still you can't see them hidden behind these massive speakers.
