Up for sale is my Soundsmith Paua Mk 2 cartridge. This is the version prior to the latest DEMS-based cartridges that Soundsmith now sells throughout their lineup. It has about 400 hours on it, it has been a great sounding cartridge for me on my VPI Classic 2 turntable, and I'm selling it for less than half price which was $4000.00. It has been playing excellently for me up until now, no issues. This is one of Soundsmith's high end cartridges, there are many positive reviews about it. The body of the cartridge is made with Paua shell (Abalone shell), and this is a moving Iron design, which Soundsmith is famous for. The great thing about Soundsmith cartridges, is that if you want to retip or restore the cartridge back to as-new condition one day, you can send it to Soundsmith and they will do any retip/repair for $550 for this cartridge (the cost of repair or retip is dependent upon the model, the more expensive the model, the higher the cost). If you research the industry to see how much various companies charge, you will realize this is a bargain cost, and it really differentiates Soundsmith from other high end cartridge manufacturers. I took advantage of this service a couple of years ago for my Soundsmith MIMC Star cartridge and Peter Lederman himself repaired it and called me after he had repaired it to describe the work he had done, and also to coach me on how to set up anti-skating on my VPI turntable! It doesn't get any better than that for customer service! Please see the pictures to see the condition of the cartridge. Comes with the original wooden box and the stylus guard. The box is inscribed with all of the necessary information needed to set up the cartridge with the phono stage. I can only ship to the United States, and will ship via Fedex with full insurance for the purchase price.
