Just a reminder that I'm seeking the best offer for this Nakamichi CA-5/PA-7 combination by next Thursday, December 22nd at 5 PM EST. I will announce the highest offer at 6PM. Again, pick up only in Ann Arbor, Michigan. To date, I have only had 4 offers.

I am seeking the best offer by December 22nd for this wonderful combination of Nelson Pass designed pre-amplifier and amplifier, the Nakamichi CA-5 and PA-7. These are available for pickup in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I just removed the PA-7 from service and as you can see from many web reviews, this amp has a very precise soundstage and natural sound. It is dead silent with no noise. With my Dynaudio speakers, voices and jazz bands sound like they are present in the room. All the small electrolytics in the PA-7 were replaced in 2013 by Northern Audio Service with Panasonic HD Type A 105 deg C capacitors. Northern Audio is one of the most respected vintage audio repair companies in the Detroit area. The PA-7 has the daughter boards that were only present in the later versions. The PA-7 comes with the original box, although I don't have the original foam.
I would be happy to demo this combination prior to purchase.

| Do you have the box for the CA-7? Does it have a remote? I do not have a CA-7, I have a CA-5 preamplifier. They never had a remote. The PA-7 amplifier did not utilize a remote either as it should be controlled by a pre-amplifier.
I do have the original box for the PA-7, but not the CA-5. I do have a non-original packing box for the CA-5. |

| If I make a winning offer, would you reserve unto Jan 4 for pickup? I will be in the Troy area on business that day and could pick it up late afternoon (coming in Jan 3 afternoon). Yes. I had said I would only hold the equipment for one week, but since you let me know ahead I would do it. However, I think a $250 downpayment would not be unreasonable. I am taking the risk that you change your mind without seeing the equipment and I could possibly lose the next highest offer. That said, if you aren't happy with the equipment when you do view it (highly unlikely), I would return the $250. |
