Very rare high value tube pre-amp from legendary John Hillig of Musical Design.
His equipment has always outperformed well known brands costing 3 to 5 times more. This is why you never see them used. At the 2014 CES, the pre-amp that was supposed to be used in the Chapman room didn't show and they borrowed a $15,000 AR pre-amp. I stuck the Elite version of this preamp in and it crushed the AR except for deep bass.
Unique design allows you to switch tube boards to roll tubes because each tube should have s designed circuit for the desired tube. The boards are $95 and he offers 7 boards.
You also have the option to send it in to be upgraded to the Elite.
The pre-amp has what John believes is the best sounding tube board for most people unless you are trying to tune for a deficiency. I have tried NOS tubes and it has made a big difference. This has stock Russian tubes.
Can also be upgraded to a remote controlled volume pot. Not an upgrade in sound quality just convenience.
The pre-amp inverts polarity so you will flip the polarity of your speaker cables on the back of your amp ONLY so it maintains absolute phase. This is so he did not have to add another gain stage just to put it back in absolute phase.
