Up for sale is a properly working and clean Audio Research Classic 60 tube power amp. It came to us in working shape and we played music on it for several hours without any problems.

Tube Complement:
(8) 6550 outputs   7) Philips/ECG and 1) Sovtek
(4) 6CG7 drivers   All Philips/ECG

Only issues, both of which we consider small:
>One of the two fans is slightly noisy.
>On our fancy test equipment it puts out just over 40 watts per channel, not the 60 it's supposed to. A friend loaned us some new Sovtek's and it easily put out 60 watts/channel on our Sound Technology Test Panel. So to get it to spec it needs 8 new output tubes but it works just fine as it is. Serial number 99046002

We will give the local buyer a 6 month Parts and Labor warranty on this one for home, non-commercial use. The warranty specifically excludes noisy fans and the output tubes known to be a little weak. Warranty is only valid if you use it as it sits and don't do ANY service or parts changing on it. It is a carry in warranty and you must personally deliver it back to us in Berkeley in the unlikely event it needs service.

If prepaid we  will offer curbside pick-up in Central Berkeley or we'll deliver it within 50 miles (each way) from us in Berkeley.

The Sound Well has been selling fine vintage audio gear since 1974 under mostly same ownership. We no longer have a storefront so unfortunately auditioning is not available. Sales Tax is included in the sale price. Thanks very much for looking!
