Sumiko Starling

Hi thanks for looking.   I just had this cartridge rebuilt (3/15/23 rebuild date) by Andy Kim at Needleclinic.   Check out his website if you have any questions,  many glowing reviews of his impeccable work on Hoffman forums as well.

II am original owner and played the cartridge for 1000 hours.  Sent to Andy and he has put a brand new stylus on that he says will last 4000 hours.   Can send receipts etc for rebuild if needed.

Point is for all purposes you are considering a new Sumiko Starling.


I aboslutly loved the sound of the original out of the box.   For me it had finesse and power.    I think Andy’s rebuild offeres greater transparency ,  but after listening for a few hours I still want to move up to a move expensive cartridge afterall.  So, enjoy the discount!

It took me a little over a year to run in 1000 hours (measured via my stylus timer).   So by Andy's calculation on stylus wear you should be good for at least 4 more years buying this one.  

Also,  I use a Rega RP-10 with a custom made Best Tractor for cartridge alignment.  Rest assured I have not installed the cartridge incorrectly while it is in use.
