Rafe Arnott of Audiostream reviewed this DAC and had this to say:

"The LampizatOr Pacific Balanced DAC consistently reproduced ones and zeros with more analog-like imperfection – and when I say that it’s a compliment of the highest calibre – like an hyper-accurate aerial survey of the topography of an album, lumps and all, rather than simply passing along the information without any finer articulation of the most salient points. Some may swoon at DACs that are clinical. I do not. Just like when I listened to Sinatra as a child, I want to be romanced and feel like what I’m hearing is special; not an analytical viewpoint. I’m not saying I don’t want transparency – I do, I just want to lens what I’m hearing through the most musical window frame possible. To really get into the soul of music you have to dig deep and get into the grooves of the recording. The LampizatOr Pacific is one of a handful of DACs I’ve encountered that makes me feel as if its dropping a stylus into the high-velocity stream of digital playback."
