The Conrad Johnson CT-5  

This rare, structurally beautiful preamplifier is the embodiment of a Reference Class component.
The CT-5 is the closest thing you can get, at this price, to a straight wire with gain.
 
Basically a massive power supply for 2 little triodes, with circuits derived from the ACT 2 and G.O.A.T. Conrad Johnson ART Anniversary Reference Triode (mono) (L+R) (2) chassis preamp of yore.  

This preamp was "unboxed-new" a few years ago after having been in protected storage. The original owner lived abroad for years before returning home to the USA to take a break from a non stop business to enjoy life again.

The CT-5 is not warm and lush OR FLAT AND CLINICAL. The overall intonation is never forced! This is not a preamp for just Lute music or just Death Metal...the CT-5 is just RIGHT if you love music.
