Hagerman Tuba Headphone Amplifier

Excellent Hagerman Tuba headphone amplifier. It has just returned from Hagerman Labs, where Jim Hagerman installed a new volume control and gave it a complete checkover. And it is, indeed, functioning perfectly. Beautifully balanced top to bottom, the closest amp I’ve had to neutrality, not soft and overly “tubey” and certainly not hard edged either. Agile, transparent, detailed yet relaxed. Really reveals headphone tonal differences.

Build quality is A+, solid as can be. 5/35 ohm low and high impedance output jacks, serving Grados, Sennheisers, ZMFs, everything I’ve got equally well. Even installing tubes inspires confidence; high quality sockets that don’t move at all, and the headphone jacks are solid as can be.

I’m running it plain and love it, but am including the beautiful optional wood side panels which can be easily installed. Pairs of reissue Mullard and Electro-Harmonic EL84 tubes included, and there are many tube rolling options for those so inclined. Plug in LPS provides the required 15V.
