Vintage item.  Think Vintage frist, and then as the Audiogon seeker regarding a nice 2 channel sound system.

What we have is the McIntosh MAC 4100 75 wpc 8 ohm receiver (production 1978-85) and is in near mint condition. Less a scratch on the right rear top, near the right side of vent on the top. (see closeup photo) Unique feature is a 5 band equalizer that uses knobs. It also has a loudness control that uses a potentiometer instead of a switch, which enables you to control the level of loudness rather than just on or off.  Nice Veneer finish on the top and sides, and nice backlit display on front.

It does not come with the original McIntosh box.  We would have to box it in a double box situation with foam and bubble wrap. It does have a factory attached power chord. Unit has been tested in our shop and is working properly, sounds great and looks great. We tested the phono and single ended inputs  and the headphone amp also works. Get it while it is in our showroom!.  We also have current McIntosh pieces on display in our showroom, being a Mac dealer.

I share this mini review because this is a non typical Audiogon Vintage piece and thus I gotta be a little bit sales guy to remind you of the vintage thing and how even so, it plays and sounds like a Mac: We played the unit in our showroom using a variety of speakers.  First, the Sonus Faber Sonetto V floorstanders in what is called "The Great Room" https://audibleimagesav.com/the-great-room/ , demo room, (current model speakers) and of course it sounded excellent.  Then we moved it into our "Escape Pod" listening room and played it with Martin Logan ESL Electrostatic Floorstander speakers and the detail was even more enjoyable.  It is important to note, that this Vintage Receiver has units listed from $1900 to $3000 on classicreceivers.com and hifishark. Some of those had upgrades or refurbishing done.  This unit has not been touched, and thus retains it's original soundstaging, imaging and dynamic range as when it first came out.

Nice 1 minute YouTube review here from Just Audio: https://youtu.be/ZX0iDuBCiKA

This website explains a little more about the piece, and also displays some offerings ranging from 2k to 3k for the same piece using ebay.  https://classicreceivers.com/mcintosh-4100
