B1 rev2 Preamp DIY

DIY passdiy/firstwatt B1 rev2 buffer preamp.   Rev2 uses complementary pair of toshiba jfets and eliminates the coupling capacitors.  Transparent buffer.  Had tried other buffer pre's (schitt saga) that sounded a touch etched sounding, not the B1r2 - smooth and adds nothing to sound character, just volume control and no loss of detail that can happen with pure passive attenuation.

Uses motorized volume pot and relay input selectors, though I installed the input board upside down so left to right lights reversed from 1-4 inputs on back.  Also, I was using this for my fam room system and installed a home theater bypass where simply routes one of the dedicated inputs directly to the dual outputs.  So, 4 inputs, 1 bypass input, 2 outputs.

In my experience, most surround processors not good with 2 channel, or they just do not do as well as even basic 2 channel preamp does for that purpose, thus why i was using this in my setup but not been using fam room for 2 channel at all lately so purging excessive equipment.
