This Wavelength Cosecant DAC is a USB, tube DAC with external power supply, designed and made in the US. They were the first company to have asynchronous DACs, which this one is. From their website, it uses “Streamlength Asynchronous USB code” that Gordon Rankin personally developed. That technology was at some point licensed out to other companies and has become the standard. These are designed and built by Gordon Rankin in the US, who has been the force behind the current versions of the excellent Audioquest Dragonfly  and Ayre DAC’s.
You can use this DAC with a PC or MAC computer (I use a PC with Foobar2000 or JRiver). It could be used with either internal hard drive of your computer or an external drive. Connect this to your computer with a quality USB cable and to your stereo with a nice pair of interconnects. You can even play Pandora, Tidal, any other streaming service, or any on-line radio station using it to significantly improve their sound quality.

I am the only owner and has been upgraded with Denominator ESS Sabre 32 bit DAC Module, ( US$500 upgrade) and the HS motherboard with 192Khz (another US$500 upgrade). It uses one output tube 6GM8/ECC86 but there are different brands available that sound a little different from each other.
I also have a custom built 2 x battery power supply for this unit. The output is 8VDC as per the Cosecant specification, and it will charge one battery while using the other one. When the charge of the battery in use is too low, it will switch on the fly through a big capacitor and will make the transition to the fully charged battery completely imperceptible.
