It's time to sell my Bowers and Wilkins 805 D2 speakers. I purchased them around 2017, from a dealer who had received them as a trade-in. I sent them to B&W in June 2020 to be refurbished. Both tweeters and one of the midrange drivers were replaced. Everything was checked (crossovers, gaskets, etc) and verified to be to spec. Documentation for the servicing is in the pictures. Since then, they've been in regular use, always at low volumes and driven with quality amplification. I'm selling them to transition up to full-range speakers.
Sound quality is excellent. Looks are great, with full gloss. I noticed two faint/small scratches on close inspection. See pictures. Sequentially numbered (4437 and 4438). They will ship in original boxes with the original packaging materials and the supplies (manual, cleaning cloth, foam port inserts, terminal jumpers.) The stands will have to ship separately; I don't have original boxes for those. Local pickup in Pittsburgh, PA is of course fine.

Thanks. Doug No, I am not the original owner. I purchased them around 2017 from an authorized B&W dealer who had taken them in on a trade-in. I enjoyed them for several years through many equipment upgrades. Then during the pandemic I thought to have them examined by B&W because I detected a very faint occasional rattling. They told me to get them fully back to spec would involve replacing both tweeters and one of the midrange drivers, so I had that work done, and they have sounded fantastic ever since. Better than I remember when I first bought them. Yes, I do have the grill covers, and they are in great shape. |
| Does the shipping cost stated cover both speakers and the stands? Yes, $200 to ship all of it. It will ship via UPS, insured. Each speaker in its own original box, and then there wil be one or two boxes for the stands. I don't have original boxes for the stands. I listed these as a flat $200 for shipping to keep the price attractive, even though the cost to me is going to be more than that. |
