Questions for the seller
Iam still interested.... would you accepted $450 without the box?
Sure, I can do that.
card still available
Yes it is.
me again, is the installation disk included, original box?
Hi, still interested in the Lynx & cable? Hi, I found the original "Master Installation Disk" and will include it. However, you may need more recent drivers from the Lynx web site. The CD includes original drivers for Windows, Mac and the Owner's Manual. I can't locate the original box.
I was under the impression tha the Vista card is used as for both types of purcahse credit/debit..... If i give you the Vista # would you try it.......I do not use "a credit" card just dirrect removal from my account...... Iam at work and as soon as I get home i will send you the # thanks Greg
I'll try your Visa card, but we're not set-up for debit processing... if it works (like a credit card), that would be fine. Vincent
there should be no problem, I will get home around 7:30 and send it to you..... and when it has cleared just send the card.... thanks
OK. Let me know your ship-to address and I'll send it tomorrow via Priority Mail.

Vincent, thanks for the card and cable, the two were just what I was looking for. It sounds like you are coming out of a set up that I am working on..... saving up for the mac pro. I have an RME 9632 running in a PC, optical to a processor then AES to a DAC. working to AES into the processor the AES to the DAC..... any thoughts as to what you have experienced as the best of the PC/MAC Pro worlds... what did you use as playback software on the Mac...
Hi Gregory, Yes, I used the Lynx card in a first generation (1.1) Mac Pro, and before that I used the same card in a PCI-X version in a PowerMac G5... both worked really well for me as the DAC I use likes AES input the best, so the other options were out of the question. I thought about using a Mac Mini instead, and I've heard good things about them, but only is you have an asynch USB DAC, which I now have (saved up for a Berkeley Alpha USB converter to my Berkeley DAC, which for the front end). Short of an asynch USB set-up with a really great converter, I thin the Lynx is the best solution for digital out... and I'm a big believer in the Mac Pro and still use mine for the set-up. It's a bare bones Mac Pro (the first gen. from 2006), stripped of just about everything except a lot of memory and an SSD for the O.S. (Snow Leopard). My files are on a NAS over ethernet. The Mac Pro has is headless (no video card). I use screen sharing and a MacBook Pro to control the Mac Pro. I took out the video card so it uses less power, and [I assume] generates less noise. I had the same stripped down Mac Pro using the Lynx card and loved it... virtually silent, and I think quieter than even a Mac Mini. For player software, I use Pure Music which I absolutely love!!! It integrates nicely with iTunes which is used just for the database and selecting songs, etc. The sound quality (vs. iTunes) is night and day. I also have Decibal (only $33) which some people prefer to Pure Music, but the interface is more cumbersome. You would need to listen and decide which sounds best in your system... if it's one thing I've learned over the few short years I've been really interested in high-end audio, it's that blanket statements really can't be made for many issues, especially regarding power, cables, etc. It's all system and room dependent, so trust your ears! If you have any questions or want to bounce any ideas off me, let me know. I hope th Lynx works well! One more thing: since Pure Music loads processed (upsampled, etc.) files into memory, you really don't need the latest, fastest CPU. My 2006 Mac Pro was picked up for about $800 a year ago, and is MORE than adequate for anything Pure Music throws at it (I've also stripped it of non-essential software and and other files, as it's a dedicated music server). Hope this helps a little. Best, Vincent
