I bought this unit new from an authorized dealer and it has not left my listening room since it was unpacked. I have all the packing, literature, etc. that came with the unit and it is pristine. I also have a selection of NOS tubes, including a fresh complement of Teles in the 6922 slots and Raytheons in the 7044 slots.
The unit was manufactured before the remote volume control feature was added. The Steelhead is very good, it may be better than that, I'm just moving on.
I have gotten a number of good offers, albeit from overseas, and my preference is a local, or US sale. Price is $4,000 without the fancy tubes, or $4,300 with the fresh set of Telefunkens and Raytheons described above. For an additional $50, i will throw in a pair of Mullard Gold Pins as well.
I have been on the 'Gon awhile, and although i'm not constantly buying and selling, I think you'll find me OK to deal with.
