This Marantz 7C Preamplifier is functional. I hate to sell but moving out of country. All serious offers considered. I have no audiogon feedback,but am Greatsayingsandstuff on ebay and do have some feedback on ebay. I do not want to sell this expensive item on ebay where you must use paypal. If you are looking at this you know what it is and the fantastic sound quality this preamplifier will produce. This is an early (1962?) edition with serial number 7-19614 with the best phonograph stage ever designed and real world bass and treble controls that are switches and not potentiometers. The line stage will make your CDs sing like never before. Low impedance cathode follower output will drive any power amp. I just installed a new mil spec 500k 2 watt log taper ( the correct specification ) volume control; it is NEW OLD STOCK and has NO scratchy sound, however the rotational action fells very slightly rough at first for the first 75 degrees or so, I have no idea why. These NOS volume controls are very expensive on eBay. The balance control needs to be replaced in the future, but is working in the middle where you leave 98 % of the time, and that is what counts. RARE original purchase paper work, includes original factory test results. Full of telefunken 12AX7 smooth plate tubes.

This Marantz is all original except for the NEW OLD STOCK military specification volume control and the feet I added to the bottom. I am a BSEE, so rest assured the volume control has been installed correctly.

Please note: This unit is missing one of the original chassis screws in addition to the four that I removed when I added the feet. I will be looking for them, but cannot guarantee I will find the screws.

Sold as is, and as described not returnable, VINTAGE TUBE electronics. Please keep in mind, this item is about 50 years old and is an antique electronic preamplifier with tubes. Note interior photo taken before volume control was replaced, the only difference is the new volume control does not have the small holes you can see in the photo.
